 Course A:    Classical Ballet
Leading to Royal Academy of Dance graded examinations. Grades 1 to 6.

Preparatory sessions to introduce young children to the multiple aspects of drama: improvisation, movement and singing, involving theatre games and action.

Course C:    Prep-Classes (ages 7 - 10)

Course B:    Beginners Classes (ages 4 - 6)

Preparatory sessions to introduce young children to the multiple aspects of drama: improvisation, movement and singing, involving theatre games and action. The children will be introduced also to devised dramatic situations.

Course D:    Juniors (ages 11 - 14)

Improvisation, movement, singing and acting sessions leading to Studio Performance. The course will lead students to optional entry for LAMDA examinations

Course E:    Intermediates (ages 15 - 17)

Acting, improvisation, voices, singing and physical theatre leading to Studio Performance and theatre exercise. The course will lead students to optional entry for LAMDA examinations

Course F:    Freestyle Dance (ages 5+)

The children's sessions will concentrate on Freestyle and Latin American techniques, while the young adults' class will train participants in Freestyle, Jazz, R & B, Slow Dancing and Latin American Dance, mostly Cha-Cha and Samba.

Course G:    Dance for Musical Theatre (ages 15+)

This course specialises in dancing for Musical Theatre and includes elements of character dance like Spanish and other styles. The course requires students to have earlier experience in dancing techniques and routines. Duration: 1 year with optional extension.

Course H:    Flamenco Dance  (ages 10+)

This course consists of footwork exercises, basic Flamenco rhythm and Flamenco gym, leading students to studio production. Students will require special dress and shoes. Duration: 1 year but students can opt for extension.

Course    I:    Flamenco Choreography (ages 10+)

A basic course introducing students to the choreography for contemporary dance.

Course J:    Seniors (18 +)

A three-year intensive course in acting styles, improvisation, physical theatre, interpretation, make-up, history of the theatre, singing and voice technique leading to a theatrical exercise per term and a full production at the end of the three-year course.

Course L:    Community Theatre (18 +)

Introducing students to the various aspects of the Theatre related to community action. The field includes drama connected with youth centres, centres for the elderly, rehab centres, street theatre, hospitals etc. Practical projects will form part of the course. The course is of special relevance to social workers, SPD teachers, youth leaders, etc. The course requires special dedication and drama experience. Course entry by audition.

Course M:    Costume Design and Manufacture ( 18 +)

From October to April Period costume design from Ancient Greece to Modern Times. Research and use of colour, fabric, trimmings and ornaments inrelation to the three medias: Theatre, TV and Film. Processing leading up to finished garment.

Course N: Musical Theatre for the Actor/Singer (15 +)

This course trains students in the different disciplines of Musical theatre and involves an emphasis on acting. It will lead to studio performance and is ideally suited for those with a flair for musical theatre, including ex-students. Duration: 1 year but students can opt for extension

Course O: Personality Development (16 +)
This course is meant to facilitate creativity, imagination, learning and insight to promote development and change.

Course P: History of Theatre (15 +)
A one year course (October - May) exploring the main movements relating to the History of Theatre, from classical Greco-Roman works coming down the centuries to reach the 21st century.

Course Q: Voice Techniques (15 +)
A one year course dealing with proper voice production, including such aspects as breathing mechanism, diction, tonality, colourization, diction, etc. The course is crucial for, actors but it will also benefit greatly all those requiring voice quality for their particular profession, including teachers.

Course R: Classical Arabic Dance (13 +)
A one year course focussing on the techniques of classical Arabic Dance, largely based on the Egyptian school. The course may be extended for better proficiency.

Course S: Stage Make-Up (15 +)
This one course deals with aspects of stage make up, including traditional character styles as well as more "experimental" creations. The course will also deal with the relation between costume (including head dressing) and make up.

Course T: Drama Therapy (ages 7 - 12)
A form of creative therapy which uses drama and movement to facilitate creativity, imagination, learning and insight to promote healing and change. This course is especially designed for people with autism or autistic tendencies.
Fee: € 30.00 (Lm12.88) + € 12.00 (Lm5.15) utilities per year

ALL COURSES WILL OPEN ONLY IF THERE IS A MINIMUM NUMBER OF APPLICANTS FOR THE RESPECTIVE COURSE. IT IS AT THE DISCRETION OF THE MALTA DRAMA CENTRE TO START A COURSE ACCORDING TO THE NUMBER OF PARTICIPANTS.

Course U: Zumba Dance (4 - 12 yrs & 13yrs +)

Course V: P.Cert LAM (ages 17 +)

Course W: Associate (Diploma): ATCL. (ages 18 +)

Zumba is a type of aerobic dance with ome Latin flavour. It is also a type of fitness program using upbeat Latin music together with physical exercises that make Zumba fun and easy to learn. Students will reach MQF levels 1 & 2

P.Cert LAM is a one year course in theory and practice of theatre leading to a fully recognised certificate in performing arts by the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA) The students are assessed by an external examiner and the Certificate is equivalent to MQF level 4                                                  Fee: €46.59 (Lm20.00) + €13.98 (Lm6.00) utilities per year

A professional one year course in theory and performance leading to an Associate of Trinity College, London. Students are assessed by an external examiner and The Diploma is equivalent to MQF Level 5
